Intimate Spring Wedding in Brooklyn

April in New York City this year was more winter than spring, marked by cold, gray skies and windy evenings. Despite the unseasonable chill in the air, Julie and Michael’s wedding at Bacchus Bistro in Brooklyn was warm and bright, an intimate celebration in a charming space.
The couple wanted a soft, timeless color palette that brought the energy and freshness of spring into their reception space: pale blush, peach, and ivory flowers were paired with soft greens and touches of blue. Full blooms like roses, ranunculus, and frilly carnations were accented with textural tweedia and seeded eucalyptus. The arrangements felt both classic and fresh, and the palette spoke to the season.

Julie’s bouquet was made in a classic silhouette, and featured blush Quicksand and peach Shimmer roses. Soft tweedia and delphinium added a pop of blue, and Tono & Co. silk ribbon trailed from the stems for a subtle romantic touch.

For the reception, guest tables spilled into the front room at Bacchus, where mid-century modern meets classic French bistro. The flowers offered bright color and texture to the space, with each table featuring a petite foam-free centerpiece with clusters of textured glass bud vases on either side, and votive candles tucked throughout.
