As I write this it’s 100 degrees outside—the first time Central Park has hit 100 degrees in 14 years. It’s not a streak I’m particularly thrilled about breaking, but at least I’m at home, with the curtains closed and the AC units set to a temperature that keeps our apartment just barely comfortable.
We’re visiting friends this weekend, and family next week. And then we fall into a new rhythm, the long summer days, evening walks and movie nights with our boys.
At Elderflower I’ll have a new rhythm as well, partnering with Buunni at their Haven Plaza location to bring local and seasonal flowers to Washington Heights. Starting July 15th their newest shop will be a pick-up point for flowers ordered in our online shop, and from time to time will also have grab-and-go bouquets for sale.
One of the reasons I wanted to open up local flower orders was to make it easier for people to incorporate fresh flowers into their rhythms, whether that’s a weekly bouquet on your kitchen counter or a meaningful gift for friends on their birthday. If you’re looking to connect more with the seasons you can shop for flowers and gifts in our online shop and get in touch for any other flower needs.
Happy summer.

Weekly Flowers at Buunni Haven Plaza
I’m so excited to be starting a partnership with Buunni at their new Haven Plaza location! Starting July 15th you can pick up any preordered flowers, or buy a grab-and-go bouquet in the shop. All arrangements and bouquets are designed with locally-grown blooms, so you can experience the seasons through flowers.
A Spring Market Recap
I wrote a proper recap of the Spring in the Heights market from early May because it really stuck with me; I’ve been feeling a bit of digital burnout, and it was a much needed reminder that simply showing up and engaging with people in the community is deeply fulfilling.

The Latest from Floralist
I started Floralist to celebrate flower people and their stories. June’s article follows Natasa Hansen, founder of the Toronto Flower Market. For Natasa, flowers are just the beginning, and her vision for city life is a verdant one, focused on “place-making,” and investing in nature.
Read more about Natasa’s path to the flower market here, and follow along on the Floralist website, newsletter, or on Instagram @heyfloralist.
Planning an event?
