The piles of snow along the medians and corners of the city are finally starting to melt. Snowdrops are poking through the ground, and soon daffodils and tulips will be in full bloom around the city.

This winter has been very, well, wintery for those of us in the Northeast. But this weekend we gain a little bit more sunlight, and I think I can confidently speak for most residents of New York City when I say that those 60-degree days in next week’s forecast can’t come soon enough.

At Elderflower, this spring brings to fruition a few things I’ve had in my head and in the works for awhile. And I’m excited to share all of this with a budding flower community.

From weekly flower orders in upper Manhattan, to a new online publication dedicated to flowers and flower people, read on for more of what’s to come and, as always, thank you for being here.

Flower Orders in April

I’m excited to finally open orders this April! Starting the week of April 13th you can order bouquets and arrangements in upper Manhattan. More details coming soon. Email subscribers will get a discount on their first order so make sure you’re subscribed here, and share with any family and friends in the neighborhood who might love local, seasonal flowers.

On Tulips

When I first started working with flowers, I considered tulips a relatively mediocre bloom; but I would quickly change course, rediscovering tulips and their delicate romanticism.

Flower People

Floralist is a new online publication about flower people: artists, growers, designers, scientists, who have dedicated their life to flowers. Flowers are ingrained in every facet of our culture, and I want Floralist to be a space where we can celebrate the people who maintain and forge these connections.
